The most common reason people give me for not having Maternity portraits is they are too self conscious, especially when they are experiencing swelling from fluid retention or they have stretch marks.

I have also had comments such as “all the pregnant ladies on your website are gorgeous, I don’t look like that”. The truth is each and every one of you are gorgeous, and I challenge you to allow me to show you that.

What made you decide to get Maternity photos? I really wanted to have some photos to look back on for years to come but a normal photo just didn’t cut it. I saw a maternity session by Peta Nikel Photography and had to have one done myself.

Were you worried about having a Maternity session? I am very self conscious when it comes to my stomach but the style and lighting that Peta used made me feel beautiful and proud to show off my belly bump. She really captured the moment. Her studio is very comfortable and welcoming, I could have stayed there all day getting snapped which is funny because photos and I usually don’t mix well.

Were you happy with your photos and would you recommend Maternity photography to your friends? It’s such a special time in one’s life that you will never get back as each pregnancy is different. I will be going back every pregnancy as I love my photos so much. I recommend Peta to all my expecting friends as I want them to experience the joy, excitement and satisfaction that I got from my Maternity shoot. And then when your precious bundle of joy arrives there is the newborn shoot.. what more can i say than MAGIC!
