Olivia, 6 weeks New – Hobart Studio Newborn Photographer

Baby’s are very unpredictable and sometimes arrive before we expect them to. Sometimes they are so early that they need to spend extra time in hospital. For this and other reasons their parents are unable to have their newborn portraits taken until a little later than usual. And this is ok!

Don’t get me wrong, I agree that the first 2 weeks in a baby’s life is perfect for those sleepy, curled up baby photos but not everybody makes it to my studio within that time. I believe every parent should have beautiful photos of their precious new babies regardless of what age they are. Of course, we are not always able to capture those sleepy images as they get older but the parents still walk away with some amazing memories that they will treasure. And thats what it’s all about for me.

Studio Newborn Session with Olivia

Miss Olivia was one of those babies who decided she would surprise her mummy and daddy by arriving early. At 6 weeks old she was just over her due date so still quite a sleepy baby. I was delighted to be able capture this as well as some awake photos showing her beautiful eyes.

If you are thinking about booking a newborn photo session for your baby it is best to contact me in advance. We can then pencil in a newborn session for within your baby’s first 2 weeks (if you are wanting the sleepy, posed newborn photos). You should even think about taking advantage of my complimentary maternity session when booking a newborn session. You can seee examples of pregnancy photos in my maternity gallery.
