18 Jan My Top 5 of 2015 – Hobart Newborn Photographer
Over the Christmas and New Year period I had some time to think about what I have achieved over the past 12 months and which of those things I’m really proud of. I’ve put together a list of my top 5 of 2015.
1 – For as long as I have been in business I was also working part time for an IT company as an Accounts Officer. For a long time I thought that I was happy to continue this way. After attending The Baby Summit (newborn photography conference) in August, I came away with a fire in my belly and a desire to really be the best I could be. I knew that I was ready to take the leap and start doing what I love every day, which is photographing newborns and babies. I have to say this is the number one best decision that I made for myself, my family and my clients in 2015.
2 – In July I entered 7 images in the 2015 AIPP Tasmanian Epson Photography Awards. These were 7 images that represent my day to day client work. I had butterflies when my first print popped up and missed out on an award by one point. And then my excitement grew as the next 6 prints were judged and each one was a silver award! This is my best result at awards from the 3 years I have entered. I was also a finalist to win Tasmanian Family Photographer of the year but this title was taken out by a good friend and fellow photographer. See my entries here
3 – I booked an overseas trip for my family. I am super excited about this as I have never been overseas before. I can’t wait to spend quality time with my family and to show my children a different part of the world, at the same time as I explore it myself.
4 – Along with a good friend of mine I started a brand new website called Tummy to Tots – a baby directory for Tasmanian parents. It is still a work in progress but we hope to make the website a very valuable resource. Follow the link to view the Tummy to Tots website.
5 – I left this one until last because I’m a bit nervous about posting this but it’s something I’m proud of in 2015. I changed my eating habits which in turn has made me feel so much healthier and as an added bonus I lost 8kg. This is a before and after photo (excuse the terrible iPhone quality)…
