As an accredited professional photographer with the AIPP, I have been entering the Tasmanian state awards for the last couple of years. It’s always such a nerve wracking experience to stand along side some of the most talented photographers in Tasmanian and have my work judged. This year I entered 7 images that represent my day to day work which I provide for my clients. I was over the moon when 6 of those images were given silver awards, with the seventh only missing out by 1 point. Not only did I receive 6 silver awards but the points I accumulated meant I was one of three finalists in the… Keep Reading

My keepsake albums are my most favourite products that I offer. I’m so honored to have some of my work featured as album samples at the WPPI trade show which is currently running in the USA! Thanks to my photographer friend who attended the trade show and took this photo for me.
Choosing a photographer for your family can be a hard decision. There are a lot of choices out there but each photographer will have their own style. The best advice I can give you is to look through the photographer’s website to make sure their style will suit your needs. To help you determine if I am the right photographer for you, I have to put together a little post. Please leave a comment or email me (email@example.com) if there are any other questions you have about what I do. What type of photography do you specialize in? I specialize in Newborn, Baby and Maternity photography. I feel these three… Keep Reading
In this industry there are so many to people who inspire me everyday but I have compiled a list of three people who I admire and who in someway have made a difference to me or the way I do things, and probably without realising it. 1. Angie Baxter At the very beginning of my photography journey I attended one of Angie’s “Love your Camera” workshops. She is a fantastic teacher, a great photographer and such a lovely down to earth person. I admire her family values also. It’s always very clear how much Angie’s family means to her and she manages to juggle the whole mum/business woman thing really… Keep Reading
Today on the blog we have an interview with Bec Owens from Mizzle Babywear. She has been nominated this year for AusMumpreneur Awards and the Telstra Womens Business Awards. I worked with Bec previously when I have photographed the Mizzle range. The products are lovely! Who is Mizzle? I understand it is a family business? Mizzle is a Tasmanian Brand of baby wear, gifts and accessories for newborn to 1 year olds. Family owned, its managed by Bec Owens. What inspired you start Mizzle? When I was pregnant with our first son, I found that so many brands were very expensive, I wanted to launch a range that looked… Keep Reading
As a photographer I like nothing better than my clients taking away photos to hang on their walls. I would love to see even more of this in the future. After all digital files are not going to be seen when they are sitting in a drawer. I understand digital files are important for sharing with family and archival reasons but who doesn’t want to see their beautiful photos hanging in their home? So you’ve chosen a group of images you’d like to hang together as a wall display but you’re wondering how on earth you are going to make sure they are all straight and hanging where they should… Keep Reading
This is a question I am frequently asked by clients and by other photographers. I love to source beautiful items. I generally like to stick to soft neutral colours with the addition of a small amount of Lemon, baby pink and baby blue, and of course purple as it’s my favourite colour. Everyone is different and the colours you purchase will depend on what suits your baby or if you are a photographer it will depend on your individual style. Just like any other thing in life, you generally get what you pay for in most cases (of course there are always exceptions to the rules). A reputable prop seller… Keep Reading
Usually I keep this blog mainly about my clients and their gorgeous photos but today I thought I’d get a bit more personal. After all, if you hire me we are going to be spending some time together. I’ve always been interested in numbers, budgets, spreadsheets etc. I completed Cert III in Financial Services and have worked part time in accounts positions since then. 2. I am a true Virgo.
