31 Mar Booking in your newborn session around your baby’s due date
Lots of planning goes into having a baby, but I’m sure you know, one thing you can’t always plan is exactly when you are going to meet your baby. So let’s talk booking in and due dates!
Being that babies don’t generally arrive on their actual due date (Did you know less than 5% actually do?), I can see why one of my most asked enquiries is how to go about booking in a newborn session when you don’t know when your baby will arrive?
We all know when preparing for a baby, it’s best to be organised, so applying the same principals to your session will make your experience run more smoothly.
I’d definitely recommend securing your session in advance. It’s quite common for me to get bookings around the time of 12 and 20 week scans. We will pencil in a session date based on your due date and when your baby arrives all I ask is that you contact me within 48 hours so we can confirm the date still works or reschedule if it doesn’t.
I’ve found doing it this way works successfully as it allows both you and I to have an idea of when the session might happen but also to be flexible should baby not arrive when expected.
Newborns are best photographed between 5-14 days old and we all know just how fast that precious time can fly. By following these guidelines for booking in, we can ensure everything is organised and stress free, giving you more time for those newborn snuggles. For babies that might arrive a little too early we can also discuss the timeframe of your session after the initial contact is made.
It’s especially important to book your session early as I only take on limited sessions per month so I can have some flexibility for when babies do arrive.
For whatever reason if you haven’t booked your session in advance, please do contact me to enquire about my availability still as I do sometimes have some additional sessions become available.
