02 Jul 2019 AIPP Tasmanian Newborn Photographer of the Year
To say it’s been a crazy few weeks is an understatement. Just last week I was awarded Tasmanian Newborn (Portrait) Photographer of the Year for the second time.
I was completely blown away, and couldn’t believe it when they read out my name.
How did this all come about?
Every year since 2013 I have been entering the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography) state awards. This year I entered 4 images in the Newborn category (I will show you the images below) and was awarded two Silvers with distinction, one Silver and my fourth image missed out on an award by one point but scored High professional practice.
The awards are print based so having the perfect quality print is just as important as the content of the print. The prints are put before a panel of 5 judges who score each print based on lighting, composition, skill etc.
I was over the moon to have some of my favourite client images awarded.
Left image – Silver with distinction, Top Right – High professional practice, Middle Right – Silver with distinction, Bottom Right – Silver
This year, I would love to also enter my prints into the National AIPP awards which will be held in Sydney in August.
